Ellis Hollins says Hollyoaks’ flash forward episode is "so ballsy", but he hopes he is not an "XL by the end of the year".
The 20-year-old star admits it will be "a big ask" for all the cast members involved in the Channel 4 soap’s new year flash forward ep – which will zoom forward a year in advance to see some of goings on in the village 12 months down the line – to stay the same a year on, but he "fully believes" the soap’s stars will pull it off.
Ellis – who has played Tom Cunningham on the show since 1999, when he was three years old – told BANG Showbiz: "It’s so ballsy. It’s on par with a live episode I think. Without the kind of immediate urgency of it. No one can gain weight, lose weight, go bald, get more hair, have a baby.
"Everyone has got to stay the exact same, which will be a big ask. That’s why I think it’s really ballsy.
"I’m hoping we have the dedication to do that, and I fully believe we will.
"We’ll have to see but let’s hope I’m not an XL by the end of the year."
Ellis has told ‘Oaks’ fans to expect the unexpected in a year’s time, but remained tight lipped about what his character is going to get up to in 2020.
He added: "I can’t wait. I’ve filmed some stuff. I’ve only just been told what’s going to happen in a year’s time, and I cannot wait.
"It’s really good stuff, something to really look forward to.
"Something I’ve never really done before. It’s just a really good opportunity to do this and with the people I’m going to do it with. It’s not what you expect."
