Elisabeth Moss’ special Golden Globe win

Elisabeth Moss’ Golden Globe win was made "more special" by the Time’s Up movement.
The 35-year-old actress took the Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama, prize at Sunday (07.01.18) evening’s ceremony and she was "proud" to be a part of a moment in history that saw so many women stand up against inequality and sexual misconduct.
Asked if Time’s Up had made her win more special, she told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: "It does [make it more special]. It really does, actually.
"And to be part of a show that, you know, talks so much about what we’re talking about tonight with the Time’s Up movement, and that represents a strong female lead as well – and so many women behind the camera and such an incredible female cast – it truly does feel like a sort of moment, historically, that I am proud to be a part of."
In ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’, Elisabeth plays a woman forced into a life of sexual servitude as one of the few remaining fertile females, and she thinks the dystopian saga of oppression struck a chord with many people in the present day.
She said: "I certainly think as artists, we have a platform and we have an opportunity to talk about things. We have an opportunity to bring visibility to things that are important to us.
"And I think that that is, for me, one of the kind of incredible things that has come out of this show is I actually really believe in what we’re saying on the show. And it doesn’t always happen like that.
"But I also think that our show reflects back to our audience what our audience is going through, and what they’re feeling and thinking, and what they want to talk about."
Elisabeth beat off competition from ‘Outlander’ star Caitriona Balfe, ‘The Crown’ actress Claire Foy, ‘The Deuce’s Maggie Gyllenhaal and ’13 Reasons Why’s Katherine Langford and she thinks it’s "ridiculous" she won the category.
She said: "Gosh, the women in that category, it’s truly extraordinary. I know it sounds like lip service, but every single performance is so amazing. I’ve seen every single one of their shows. The fact that anyone thinks that this should be mine is ridiculous to me."
