Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards won’t speak to ex-wife

Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards refuses to speak to his ex-wife Sam Morton – unless it concerns his daughters’ well-being.
The Olympic ski jumper was left heartbroken two years ago when his spouse dropped the bombshell that she wanted to leave him following 13 years of marriage but, despite them now being divorced, he has admitted they don’t have an "amicable" relationship and he wants nothing to do with her unless it involves Otillie, 11, and Honey May, nine.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, Eddie said: "It’s not amicable at the moment, whether it changes in the future who knows. The girls have mobiles so I contact them directly most of the time so we try and arrange things directly rather than speaking to my ex wife but things might change in years to come but we’ll have to wait and see.
"I’m hoping I won’t have to be in a situation where I have to speak to her. I only speak to her when I have to, you know, like regarding the girls’ welfare. But other than that, I try to keep as wide as berth as possible really. I don’t speak to her, I don’t text her, I don’t email her, I don’t have anything to do with her. She hasn’t tried to contact me either though."
The 52-year-old athlete has revealed the split came completely "out of the blue" and destroyed him but he’s hoping they can become friends later on down the line.
He said: "The separation came out of the blue, it was difficult and I was hurt badly. I don’t want to speak to her at the moment and I hope that will change but it hasn’t yet."
