Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones look set to reunite on the big screen for epic adventure movie ‘The Aeronauts’.
Eddie won the Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of renowned scientist Professor Stephen Hawking in ‘The Theory of Everything’, and Felicity earned a Best Actress nomination for starring opposite him as his wife in the 2014 biopic.
Now Variety reports the pair are in talks to star together in period action film ‘The Aeronauts’, which is based on the true story of balloon pilot Amelia Wren and scientist James Glaisher, who in 1862 set a world record for flying higher in a hot air balloon than anyone ever has since.
The pair set out on a field trip to explore the heavens and made groundbreaking new discoveries – only to find themselves battling against the forces of the atmosphere and fighting for survival.
The film will be helmed by young British director Tom Harper, whose previous work includes hit TV shows ‘Peaky Blinders’ and the BBC adaptation of ‘War & Peace’.
The script is being penned by Jack Thorne, who wrote the play for West End production ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’, which was adapted from the J.K. Rowling story.
The Amazon Studios production is due to start shooting in London in spring 2018.
Away from their upcoming production, Eddie is due to appear in the next instalment of the ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ Harry Potter spin-off movies, while Felicity appears as Jyn Erso in the ‘Star Wars’ franchise.
