Eddie Izzard cast in Boychoir

Eddie Izzard has joined the cast of ‘Boychoir’.

The 52-year-old actor will play a teacher and star alongside Debra Winger, Josh Lucas and Kevin McHale in director Francois Girard’s forthcoming drama.

It tells the story of a 12-year-old student, Stet, played by newcomer Garrett Wareing, who ends up at a Boy Choir school which is based on the American Boychoir School in Princeton, New Jersey.

He works under demanding choirmaster Dustin Hoffman who recognises his talent and tries to get him to focus on music.

Judy Cairo, Carol Baum and Jane Goldenring of Informant Media are producing while Michael A. Simpson, Eric Brenner and Ben Ripley are executive producing.

Ripley penned the script for the production which will be filmed across a number of US cities including Stamford, Fairfield, New Haven and New York.

Izzard’s last film role was in 2011’s ‘Cars 2’ where he voiced Miles Axelrod and the same year he starred in comedy-drama ‘The Other Side’ as Dean Bellamy.
