Ed Sheeran wanted for BRITs

Ed Sheeran is the top fans’ choice to perform at next year’s BRIT Awards with MasterCard.

The ‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker topped a poll of dream performers for the 2015 ceremony with 21 per cent of the vote, while reclusive ‘Ziggy Stardust’ icon David Bowie – who didn’t appear at the 2014 show to pick up his Male Solo Artist prize – took second place, coming slightly behind with 20 per cent.

And fans would also like to see Fleetwood Mac – who have a huge 2015 tour planned – take to the stage at London’s O2 during February’s show, as well as last year’s performer Katy Perry and ‘Stone Cold Sober’ hitmaker Paloma Faith.

Elsewhere in the survey – which was conducted by MasterCard – Michael Jackson’s 1996 rendition of ‘Earth Song’, which saw Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker storm the stage, was named the most iconic BRITs performance, ahead of Adele’s 2011 ‘Someone Like You’ and the Spice Girls’ ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ in 1997.

Rounding out the top five were Robbie WIlliams’ 2010 hits medley and the late Amy Winehouse’s performance of ‘Rehab’ at the 2007 show.

MasterCard are offering cardholders the chance to see their favourite acts live and get priority tickets to the 2015 BRIT Awards until Wednesday (17.12.14). Tickets are available at Pricelesssurprises.co.uk
