Ed Sheeran to headline Glastonbury 2017

Ed Sheeran is set to headline Glastonbury Festival 2017.
The ‘Sing’ hitmaker is reportedly in advanced talks to top the bill on the famous Pyramid Stage at next year’s music extravaganza at Worthy Farm in Somerset, South West England, and it looks like a done deal as both the festival’s organisers and Ed are keen to make it happen.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Ed has always wanted to do Glasto, it’s been a huge ambition.
"He’s one of the biggest artists in the world, and British, so bosses are desperate to book him."
Meanwhile, the flame-haired star will make his musical comeback later this month when he features on a track called ‘Cold Water’ with Diplo, Major Lazer, Justin Bieber, Benny Blanco and MØ.
Bieber – who worked with Ed on ‘Love Yourself’ – teased the collaboration on Twitter and tagged Ed in the post.
He wrote: "#coldwater coming this month. Me, @MAJORLAZER @ItsBennyBlanco @edsheeran (sic)"
The 25-year-old singer/songwriter has been on hiatus since he wrapped up his ‘x Tour’ last December and he also stepped away from social media.
At the time, he said: "Hello all. I’m taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while, I’ve had such an amazing ride over the last five years but I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes so I’m taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere or do anything to travel the world and see everything I missed."
However, Ed had promised fans that he will return in autumn 2017 and that he has already completed his third studio album, the follow-up to 2014’s ‘x’, which is "the best thing" he’s ever done.
He continued: "To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand me buggering off for a bit, to my fans, the 3rd album is on its way and is the best thing I have made thus far. See you all next autumn, and thank you for being amazing. Ed."
