Ed Sheeran ‘not too fussed’ about Grammy Awards

Ed Sheeran is "not too fussed" about the Grammy Awards.

The ‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker has been nominated in the Best Pop Vocal Album, Album of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media categories, but isn’t getting his hopes up when it comes to winning any of the coveted titles at the ceremony on Sunday February 8.

He said: "Just being nominated for a Grammy – all the artists say this I know – but honestly I’m not too fussed about winning, just because I probably won’t! I never win anything."

The 23-year-old musician – who has picked up two BRIT Awards, an Ivor Novello Award, an MTV VMA, and a BBC Music Award amongst others – went on to play down his previous wins saying he was presented with them because of a dearth of talent.

He continued: "I won the year of the Brits because I was a male and not Adele – she won everything else! And I got the VMA because Pharrell didn’t turn up [and] I did. They said, ‘He’s not here, do you want it?’"

Although the multi-million selling act is feeling pessimistic about his chances at the Los Angeles ceremony, he feels more confident his pal Sam Smith will pick up multiple prizes for his debut album, ‘In the Lonely Hour’ which was released last year, as he has been shortlisted for six awards.

He told Capital FM: "I think Sam will win a large amount of them. I don’t think he’s gonna walk away with nothing."

On Wednesday (04.02.15) it was revealed the singer-songwriter will perform at the awards with John Mayer, Herbie Hancock and Questlove, as well as Jeff Lynne’s ELO.

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast exclusively on 4Music in the UK at 9pm on Monday February 9.
