EastEnders: Letitia Dean thinks Sharon Mitchell will ‘bounce back’

Letitia Dean says Sharon Mitchell will "bounce back".
The ‘EastEnders’ actress has opened up about how her Albert Square alter ego will cope as she struggles to deal with her guilty conscience after a dramatic few months.
Over Christmas, Sharon’s husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) discovers he’s not the father of her baby, and she has tried to protect herself, the child and Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) – who she had an affair with – while Mel Owens’ (Tamzin Outhwaite) discovery about the baby’s paternity ultimately led to her death when she was chased to the airport.
Now, Letitia has told Inside Soap magazine: "The fighter in Sharon is going to come to the surface. This isn’t the first time she’s found herself in this situation.
"Her priority will be her son, Dennis, and her unborn baby.
"She has a few friends left on the Square, so she’ll definitely be looking to them for help."
The 52-year-old soap star also pointed out her character is well equipped to deal with any threat posed by her husband Phil.
She added: "And don’t forget, she knows Phil inside out – she’s able to push his buttons, so if he decides to fight dirty, Sharon will definitely go toe to toe with him."
Meanwhile, Sharon and Keanu were involved in some particularly saucy scenes, including making love on the Mitchells’ kitchen table and even using handcuffs in Phil’s bed.
But Letitia enjoyed shooting the scenes with Danny, and described him as "such a lovely bloke".
Asked about her experience of filming the sex scenes, Sharon told the Metro newspaper: "[It was] very trying! Looking up into those beautiful eyes.
"Danny, on a serious note, was so respectful and lovely – and I just couldn’t believe my luck, really, because he’s such a lovely bloke."
