Duncan James starts filming for Hollyoaks

Duncan James has started filming for ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 38-year-old actor was meant to start his new role on the Channel 4 soap last month but was forced to delay his first day after he injured his spine but he’s now back to full health and shot his first scenes on Thursday (07.07.16)
Taking to his Twitter account this morning, he wrote: "So it’s my first day at @hollyoaks and im taking over the ‘Hollyoaksofficial’ insta account so you can see everything that happens #1stday(sic)"
The Blue singer will play Ryan in the programme but he won’t be in for an easy ride once his alter-ego waltzes into the village of Chester alongside his girlfriend Amy Barnes (Ashley Slanina-Davies) as he’ll find himself caught up in a bitter love triangle with his lover’s ex-boyfriend Ste McQueen (Kieron Richardson).
The explosive storyline will see viewers fall in love with Ste as he battles to prove he’s a good role model for his and Amy’s children Leah and Lucas but fans will also be torn by the fact, on paper, Ryan is the better person to raise the youngsters.
Meanwhile, Duncan was left devastated last month when he was forced to spend three weeks in hospital after undergoing an operation for a slipped disc and damaged nerve.
A source said at the time: "Duncan slipped a disc and damaged a nerve. It was pretty bad. He had a small section of the disc removed to ease pressure on the spine."
