Duchess of Cornwall learns to weave baskets

A woman showed off her basket weaving skills to the Duchess of Cornwall during a visit to Spitalfields Market.
Betty Grace, 72, impressed the 68-year-old royal with her skills as she promoted the GrandFest 2016, where she will be teaching the younger generation how to make these baskets.
She said: "Basket making is a classic craft with a contemporary flair. You can be as creative as you like with basketry once you have mastered the basic principles. Basket making is very satisfying and therapeutic, so come along to my master class where I will teach all the basics of how to make a basket."
Betty has been perfecting her skill for 30 years after being scouted for her talent whilst in adult education school in the 1980s. From then, she went on to study at London College of Furniture.
And whilst Betty is an expert when it comes to basket weaving, the Duchess recently praised her mother-in-law Queen Elizabeth for her expert knowledge on horses.
She said: "If I need to ask about a horse there’s no better person to ask, I mean she is the tops. You couldn’t find a better expert.
"Horses respond to her. It’s a two-way relationship, they both love each other. She has that wonderful smile which lights up her whole face and you can see the real joy she gets from it. Who else is riding at 90? That’s what’s so incredible."
