Doctor Who Time Lords come together to thank NHS

Ten ‘Doctor Who’ Time Lords will reunite to say thank you to the NHS tonight (23.04.20).
Current star Jodie Whittaker will be joined by the likes of her predecessor Peter Capaldi and the likes of Tom Baker and David Tennant for a special fundraising telethon.
The BBC have announced ‘The Big Night In’ will feature 10 Doctors from the sci-fi show’s rich history delivering a message of thanks to frontline staff for their hard work amid the coronavirus crisis.
The heartwarming clip – which will also feature Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Paul McGann, Sylvester McCoy and Matt Smith – will be broadcast just before this week’s Clap For Carers at 8pm.
Also part of the Time Lord lineup is Jo Martin, who played an alternative incarnation of the character in two episodes earlier this year.
Children in Need and Comic Relief have joined forces for tonight’s telethon – which kicks off at 7pm on BBC One – with other highlights including David Walliams and Matt Lucas reuniting for the first ‘Little Britain’ TV sketch in a decade.
There will also be a ‘Vicar of Dibley’ revival with Dawn French, and Peter Kay will star in a new video for ‘(Is This The Way To) Amarillo’.
If that wasn’t enough, Catherine Tate will bring back her character Lauren Cooper for a homeschooling skit with David.
In terms of musical performances, the likes of Dua Lipa, Chris Martin, Rita Ora, Paloma Faith and Ellie Goulding have recorded a rendition of ‘Times Like These’ by Foo Fighters.
The three-hour event – which aims to raise money for vulnerable people across the UK who have been impacted by the ongoing health crisis – will be hosted by Matt Baker, Sir Lenny Henry, Paddy McGuinness, Zoe Ball and Davina McCall.
The British government has vowed to match all public donations with a minimum pledge of £20 million.
