DJ Fresh is to retire from the "fake" and "soul destroying" music industry.
The 39-year-old producer-and-DJ has announced his plans to stop touring at the end of the year and start a "new chapter" in his life because he feels disconnected from the music world, which fails to encourage "experimentation" and "heartfelt emotion".
In a statement on his Facebook page, the ‘Louder’ hitmaker – whose real name is Daniel Stein – said: "To everyone who has experienced my music I’ve decided to come off the road altogether after this year (Jan next year to be exact)
If you want to see me … Come out to one of the gigs between now and then
"It’s time to being the next chapter of my life … And it’s way overdue. Need to think about my health and life.
"Thanks so much everyone who has bought my records and supported my vision. Without you guys, the music wouldn’t exist I cannot continue to be a part of this industry … I hate everything about it. It’s fake, soul destroying and promotes everything BUT experimentation and heartfelt emotion (which is what music means to me) (sic)"
However, the ‘Gold Dust’ hitmaker wanted to make it clear that he is in no way talking about his supportive record labels and hinted that he tell-all about his exit from music in a book one day.
He continued: "Long live Bad Company.
"I just want to add that this is in no way related to my record label/labels who have all been fantastic (there are some good ones out there!) … Maybe one day I’ll write a book, and explain it then (sic)"
DJ Fresh’s biggest hits included ‘Louder’ featuring Sian Evans and ‘Hot Right Now’ with pop beauty Rita Ora.
The EDM star’s last listed concert is on September 4 at Fusion Festival in Liverpool.
