Diane Langton would return to EastEnders

Diane Langton would return to ‘EastEnders’.

The 67-year-old actress – who is currently starring as Nana McQueen on Channel 4’s ‘Hollyoaks’ – previously played Cindy Beale’s mother Bev Williams on the BBC One soap and hasn’t ruled out reprising the role in the future as she still has ties to Albert Square because of Bev’s grandchildren Peter Beale (Ben Hardy) and Cindy Williams (Mimi Keene).

Diane told Inside Soap magazine: "They keep mentioning Bev on telly at the moment. She’s meant to be in Devon, which is really weird.

"You know, I haven’t been asked to return to the show, but I guess while the grandchildren are around there’s still a possibility."

Diane also admitted she was shocked by the recent storyline which saw the murder of her on-screen granddaughter, Lucy Beale.

She said: "I do like watching ‘EastEnders’, but I haven’t got a clue about who killed Lucy Beale."

Meanwhile, the ‘Only Fools and Horses’ veteran is enjoying a more prominent role in ‘Hollyoaks’ following the departure of the McQueen matriarch Myra (Nicole Barber-Lane) last year.

She said: "It’s a madhouse for me at the moment! But it’s marvellous to be wanted. It’s better than coming into scenes and asking people if they want a cup of tea. When Myra left the show, I slipped into her shoes as head of the family. It’s been great."
