Diane Kruger: Success made me ‘arrogant’

Diane Kruger says becoming famous made her "arrogant".
The ‘Troy’ star thought she had it "all figured out" at one point because she modelled and spoke three languages.
She said: "I had become arrogant. I had been a model, I spoke three languages, I had a career. I felt I had it all figured out.
"And then I realised that I was living this very privileged life in my own bubble that I created and I [didn’t] know anything about what [was] really going on in the world and I didn’t ask enough questions."
However, the 39-year-old actress refused to be stuck in her little "bubble" forever and cut those friends out who were keeping her trapped in there.
She told the August issue of Town & Country magazine: "I made a lot of different choices. I cut people out of my life who I felt were enabling my bubble."
Meanwhile, Diane – who is in a long-term relationship with actor Joshua Jackson – previously admitted she used to think being beautiful "meant being skinny".
She shared: "When I was younger, being beautiful meant being skinny; I was a model, so you can imagine how hard it was to stay in shape.
"But when I turned 30, I realised how stupid I was for believing that. I think you’re beautiful when you’re smart and beauty is something you need to achieve."
And Diane also admitted she feels like she is in a "dream" sometimes as she can’t believe how much success she has had.
She added: "I feel incredibly lucky because of all the opportunities that I’ve had along the way and because I’m still here in this business after all this time. It just feels like a dream to me sometimes.
"It certainly was not what I thought would happen to me when I was still living in a small village in the north of Germany. People who are born and raised there, usually never leave. Nobody from my family has ever left their hometown. I’m grateful for what I have got now."
