Dermot O’Leary and Dee Koppang O’Leary have named their newborn son Kasper.
The couple welcomed their first child together last month and, during his return to his BBC 2 Radio Show on Saturday (04.07.20), Dermot, 47, revealed the tot’s name as he played him a special song.
Dermot told listeners: "My lovely son came into the world 10 days ago accompanied by Guy Garvey’s ‘Elbow’.
"So forgive this moment of brief self-indulge while we play the song that accompanied that. This is for you Kasper with a K – my wife is very insistent on that.
"Kasper Koppang O’Leary welcome to the world!"
Last weekend, Dermot and Dee, 41, announced Kasper’s birth by sharing identical posts on Instagram.
They wrote: "Welcome to the world baby Koppang O’Leary… We’re delighted to announce that we’ve had a baby! A little boy born on Tuesday 23rd June 2020 (Sankthansaften / Midsummer for you Norwegians) at 8.19am, weighing in at 6lb 13oz. Enjoying the cuddles in the newborn bubble… cats yet to be 100 per cent convinced. Lots of love, Dermot & Dee x (sic)."
Meanwhile, back in 2015, Dermot admitted he would love to have kids one day but wanted to wait until he and producer Dee were less busy.
He said: "I definitely want kids, but I’ve got a very busy wife with a very busy life. It’s not fair for me to say, ‘I want kids now’. I do want kids with my wife, but I want them when we both think it’s the right thing to happen."
