Dermot O’Leary and his wife Dee Koppang O’Leary have welcomed a baby boy.
The couple took to Instagram on Saturday (27.06.20) to share identical posts announcing the birth of their first child on Tuesday (23.06.20).
They wrote: "Welcome to the world baby Koppang O’Leary… We’re delighted to announce that we’ve had a baby! A little boy born on Tuesday 23rd June 2020 (Sankthansaften / Midsummer for you Norwegians) at 8.19am, weighing in at 6lb 13oz. Enjoying the cuddles in the newborn bubble… cats yet to be 100 per cent convinced. Lots of love, Dermot & Dee x (sic)."
Both Dermot and Dee also shared a picture of a baby’s onesie and a cuddly rabbit toy.
The pair’s famous friends were quick to offer congratulations, with Scarlett Moffatt writing: "Congratulations to you both" and Daisy May Cooper saying: "OH MY GOODNESS! CONGRATULATIONS YOU GORGEOUS FAMILY."
Jessie Ware wrote: "Yesssssss mazels!!!!!!!! Xxxxxxxx," Laura Whitmore said: "Congratulations!!!" and Lisa Faulkner added: "So many congratulations."
Dee, 41, and Dermot, 47, shared the news of her pregnancy in February, writing: "We’re pleased to announce that we’re expecting a little Koppang O’Leary…"
Meanwhile, back in 2015, Dermot admitted he would love to have kids one day but wanted to wait until he and producer Dee were less busy.
He said: "I definitely want kids, but I’ve got a very busy wife with a very busy life. It’s not fair for me to say, ‘I want kids now’. I do want kids with my wife, but I want them when we both think it’s the right thing to happen."
