Debbie Rush bid farewell to ‘Coronation Street’ fans as Anna Windass was found guilty in court.
The 51-year-old actress’ character was in court in Monday’s episode (22.01.17) where Anna was found guilty by a jury of causing grievous bodily harm to Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni).
And now her final scenes have aired, Debbie took to the soap’s official Instagram account to bid goodbye to the fans.
She said in the video: "So this is me now, I’ve finished my last ever scene on the Cobbles this evening and I just want to say all our viewers out there. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for supporting Anna, for being with her on the whole of the journey, for sending all your love and just basically for being amazing and being part of our wonderful Corrie family because that’s what we think of you, our viewers, so from me it’s goodbye and wish me well in prison!"
Meanwhile, Debbie previously revealed she spent two years thinking about quitting ‘Coronation Street’.
She said: "It’s terrifying. It was frightening before I came into this as it’s tough and jobs are few and far between. But it’s what I did before and it’s what I’ll do again. I took a really long time to make a decision and talked about it for two years before I decided to go. I told my husband and children – and I have a very close inner circle – but we kept it under wraps for quite some time.
"I have a month of filming to go, which takes us to the end of January on screen. As the weeks count down, I’m really excited. I’ve been here for nine years and loved every minute. The show has been very good to me and I’ve been really lucky with some great storylines. I feel highly respected by my colleagues and it’s scary to leave such a lovely job, but I just want to be creative again somewhere else. As an actress, it’s time to move on."
