Debbie McGee is "in it to win it" on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 58-year-old star and her professional partner Giovanni Pernice have been wowing the judges and fans of the show with their routines, and the star is determined to push herself as far as possible in order to scoop the glitterball trophy.
She told Closer magazine: "I’m in it to win it – you don’t go into show business if you’re not a high achiever.
"I give 100 per cent to every job I do, I just hope I’m good enough to win."
Although Debbie used to be a ballet dancer, she thinks its her yoga and Pilates training that have given her an advantage on the programme.
She said: "I’ve always been fit and do an 8am Ashtanga yoga or Pilates class at my local gym three or four times a week. Exercise makes you feel happier…
"I don’t think my ballet training has helped me on ‘Strictly’, it’s my yoga. It keeps you strong and supple and Pilates maintains your core."
Debbie – whose husband Paul Daniels died from a brain tumour last year – is thankful to have found a friendly and supportive professional partner in 27-year-old Giovanni.
She said: "Giovanni has been so understanding for a guy of his age. He’s so protective of me.
"Sometimes if I talk or think about Pual, the floodgates open and he will give me a hug and be upset for me…
The fact we get on has made ‘Strictly’ so special. Every day is different. It’s so much better than I could have dreamed. Everybody is just so lovely."
