Davood Ghadami has been getting dance advice from Bonnie Langford.
The 35-year-old actor is doing well on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – on which he is partnered with Nadiya Bychkova – but is pleased he can turn to his ‘EastEnders’ screen mum, who is a former dancer.
He said: "A lot of people in the dancing world know Bonnie really well and she’s been giving me tips. When she found out I was going on ‘Strictly’, she was so excited she jumped on me."
Davood – who has daughters Eva, five and Grace two, with wife Isobel – also feels "incredibly lucky" to have the support of his wife while juggling his working commitments.
He said: "Isobel’s a primary school teacher and so good with our girls. I’m an incredibly lucky man.
"She tries to come to the studio and watch me rehearse most weeks but obviously she has our two little girls to look after."
Davood and Isobel have no worries about the notorious ”Strictly’ curse’, which has seen relationships crumble after contestants appear on the show.
He said: "My life couldn’t be the way it is without her support. She laughs off the stories about the ‘Strictly’ curse.
"I’m an actor and she’s used to me pretending to be someone’s lover or husband."
And though the hunky star’s kids have been watching him on the show, he’s not their favourite dancer as Eva has been backing Jonnie Peacock – who departed the competition at the weekend – over him.
He told Closer magazine"Eva is a big ‘Strictly’ fan. She talks about it all the time and how Craig [Revel Horwood] is being really mean.
"I think Jonnie is her favourite, but she has to tell me she wants me to win."
