Davina McCall is amazed stars still do The Jump

Davina McCall is "amazed" celebrities still want to compete on ‘The Jump’.
The future of the Channel 4 winter sports show has been hanging in the balance since eight celebrities were seriously injured in the last series of the programme, but she has admitted it’ll continue on screens all the time dare-devil stars still want to sign up for the series.
Speaking on Saturday’s (23.09.16) episode of ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’, the host said: "I was amazed because I didn’t think we’d be able to get people back on it but apparently people still want to do the show which is great. They’re amazing."
And, although the 48-year-old presenter hates seeing people hurt themselves on the slopes, she believes the team behind the show give the "best care" and celebrities aren’t forced to partake.
Asked if she worries participants will badly injure themselves, she said: "It was a bit like ‘Don’t Try This at Home’. I really worried about that as well … All I can say is that they’re given the best care and they are taught by the best teachers and love bombed for the entire time they’re there. And they’re willing, they want to do it, we’re not forcing them out there."
The third series of the show, which finished in March, saw Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle break her back after she collided with a barrier and ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Mark-Francis Vandelli fracture his ankle in training, while other stars dislocated their shoulders and sprained their elbows.
However, despite being stricken with injuries, the extreme sport show will return next year.
A source previously said: "For good and bad reasons ‘The Jump ‘was one of the most talked about shows on television last year. It’s the only reality show of its kind – and it gives it something else compared to other shows.
"The uncertainty and the occasional injury make it all the more interesting. An official announcement will come in due course, but from Channel 4’s point of view it’s a done deal."
‘The Jonathan Ross Show’ airs on Saturday (24.09.16) at 10.20pm on ITV.
