Davina McCall is heartbroken after watching Channel 4’s documentary about Jade Goody.
The former ‘Big Brother’ presenter tuned in for the first part of ‘Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain’ on Wednesday (07.08.19) – told fans on Twitter it was an "intense" experience seeing it play out on the small screen.
Sharing a broken heart emoji on Twitter, Davina – who was interviewed for the documentary – said: ‘Wow… this is really intense… she lived a lot in her short life."
Jade passed away from cervical cancer in 2009 at the age of 27, and the TV host knew the reality star when she shot to fame on ‘Big Brother’ in 2002.
Davina, 51, added that the documentary was "bringing back so many memories".
The presenter also witnessed Jade’s fall from grace when she was accused of racism during the fifth series of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ due to her treatment of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.
Davina said in the doc: "I felt such enormous joy at Jade’s popularity. Then, ‘Oh my God, what happened? How can it all turn in a nanosecond? She’s now become the most hated girl in Britain?’ "
Jade appeared in the ‘CBB’ house five years after her original stint in the civilian version, and she became the first of the show’s housemates to become a millionaire as she enjoyed success on television before the scandal.
‘Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain’ started last night as the first of a three-part series highlighting her life.
