David Threlfall’s mobile toilet got a parking ticket while he was filming ‘Isolation Stories’.
The 66-year-old actor is part of the star-studded cast of executive producer Jeff Pope’s new ITV drama, which has been filmed while the actors are in lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and Jeff was furious when an "over zealous" parking warden hit them with a fine during filming.
David plays a grandfather who stops off to wave through the window to his grandchildren every time he goes to the shops and the scenes were filmed outside the home of Eddie Marsan, who plays his son-in-law.
As Eddie lives 20 minutes from David, producers installed a camper van with a toilet just outside his house, in case David needed it but it received a ticket from an eager traffic warden.
According to The Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column, Jeff fumed: "We got a parking ticket.
"Are parking wardens key workers? It was over zealous. Hardly anyone is using the roads, for goodness sake.
"It is mean spirited. We are trying to take people’s minds off everything and just show these films but parking wardens rest for no man."
‘Isolation Stories’ features a host of stars including Sheridan Smith, ‘Killing Eve’s Darren Boyd, former ‘Coronation Street’ actress Angela Griffin, Robert Glenister and his son, Tom Glenister.
In order to adhere to social distancing measures, family members of the cast served as camera crews during filming.
Sheridan, 38, who is due to give birth to her first child in May, was filmed at home by partner Jamie Horn, who is an insurance broker.
She told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "He isn’t in the industry, so I was so proud of him. He turned out to be a natural cameraman.
"I couldn’t help with lifting, so was in charge of costume, make-up . . . I’m lucky I have the baby coming soon, so it’s been a focus for me."
