David Tag’s Hollyoaks ‘mess about’

‘Hollyoaks’ newcomer David Tag feels like he has joined the soap "for a bit of a mess about" because he’s had so much fun during filming.
David will appear on screen for the first time in tonight’s (26.06.18) E4 episode as recently released killer Sylver McQueen, and he is enjoying being part of the famous soap family so much he forgets he is working at times.
He said: "We just have a laugh with them on set all the time. It makes you feel like it’s not work. It’s like I come in for a bit of a mess about, and at the same time, they film us messing about! So it’s really good."
David finds his on-screen half-sister Chelsee Healey (Goldie McQueen) "hilarious" because he claims she is glued to her phone off set but can turn on her acting skills as soon as she is called upon.
He said: "It’s really fun. Obviously this is work, but when you’re on set, we’re just constantly laughing. Chelsee Healey is hilarious. She’s always got her head down on her phone, but then when the scene comes, it’s like ‘bam’ – she’s there and she’s on point.
"Nicole (Myra) is really funny. The two young lads – Theo and Malique (Hunter and Prince) – are such good lads as well."
But David was surprised his co-stars were so welcoming, because he expected to get a "hard time" in the green room.
He added to Digital Spy: "I thought they’d be a little more: ‘Oh, here’s the new guy, let’s give him a bit of a hard time!’ But everyone’s been really nice.
"I feel like I’ve made really good friends, from the actors to the costume department and things like that. Everyone’s just clicked. So it’s been a really nice experience so far."
Moya Brady has also joined ‘Hollyoaks’ as Sylver and Goldie’s mother, and she is to demand her daughter gives her son a place to live when he is released from prison.
The former ‘Shameless’ star said: "She is a Super Nanny by trade, and arrives in ‘Hollyoaks’ to bring her branch of the family closer together. Especially as her son will be released from prison soon.
"Breda has been working hard at her career as a Super Nanny, and has kept close to where Sylver has been incarcerated, just to be near him for comfort and guidance."
