David Gest wanted to compete on Bear Grylls: Mission Survive

David Gest dreamed of testing himself on ‘Bear Grylls: Mission Survive’ before his tragic death.
The music producer – was found dead at the age of 62 on Tuesday (12.04.16) at a room at the Four Seasons hotel in London – was desperate to nab a spot on the next series of the reality TV show, which sees celebrities navigate through difficult terrain and tested on fundamental principles of survival, in a bid to re-launch his TV career.
His agent said: "We spoke about how much David loved the show and how he would love to test himself on it. He really enjoyed the Bushtucker Trials on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ and was looking for that sort of physical challenge again. It’s such a shame he never got a chance to do it."
After 2006 stint in the jungle, Gest was a regular on reality TV appearing on shows such as ‘Come Dine With Me’, ‘Hotel GB’ and most recently ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in January.
However, his time in the infamous house was cut short when he was forced to pull out after just two weeks due to illness.
Gest’s passing is being described as "unexplained", but police aren’t treating his death as suspicious.
A post-mortem will be held in due course.
