Dave Grohl returns to action on a throne

Dave Grohl made his live comeback while sat on a throne on Saturday (04.07.15).

The 46-year-old rocker broke his leg while performing on stage in Sweden last month, but returned to action in unusual circumstances as he sat on a throne during a gig in Washington DC, surrounded by guitars, amps and lights.

Although Dave’s leg break caused the Foo Fighters to cancel shows around Europe including their headline Glastonbury Festival performance, the iconic band have since been strongly linked with a starring role at the festival in 2016, with an insider recently claiming festival boss Michael Eavis has asked them to return next year.

The source explained: "Dave was beyond gutted about pulling out of Glastonbury, especially at such short notice.

"But Michael was quick to book him for next year as he’s desperate for the Foos to headline. He knows they’ll go down a storm at Glasto. Dave agreed within seconds."

Following his injury, Dave quickly admitted it was not "physically possible" for him to meet the band’s touring commitments.

In a statement, he said: "You know I hate to do it, but I’m afraid it’s just not physically possible for me at the moment.

"We’re doing our best right now to work out a plan, so bear with us. You know we’re good for our word. But for now, I need to make sure we have years of gigs ahead of us."
