Darren Jeffries is returning to ‘Hollyoaks’.
The 34-year-old star is to reprise his role as Sam "O.B." O’Brien on the Channel 4 show after eight years away, and he admitted returning to the set felt as though he had never left.
He said: "It’s an absolute pleasure to bring O.B back to Hollyoaks village.
"I still can’t believe it’s been over eight years since I left the show, it feels like I’ve never been away."
O.B. has a big part to play on his return to the village as he is set to team up with Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) and Grace Black (Tamara Wall) in a bid to track down the missing Osborne family.
Darren added: "If anyone can get to the bottom of where the Osbornes are it’s him."
The character will first be seen on screen in the week beginning November 14.
Darren is no stranger to big storylines having been involved in a number during his first spell in ‘Hollyoaks’, which began in June 1997.
One of his most memorable plotlines came when he saved his best friend Max Cunningham (Matt Littler) from being murdered by his evil wife Claire Devine (Gemma Bissix).
Sadly, Max was finally killed prompting O.B. to leave the Hollyoaks village for London, where his ex-girlfriend Summer Shaw (Summer Strallen) landed a part in West End musical ‘The Sound of Music’.
This led to a famous cross-over episode featuring Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber.
As well as winning numerous fans during his on-screen bromance with Matt, the pair also picked up the Best Onscreen Partnership prize at the 2008 British Soap Awards.
