D’Arcy Wretzky wants to return to Smashing Pumpkins

D’Arcy Wretzky would like to rejoin The Smashing Pumpkins.
The 47-year-old musician was the alternative rockers original bass player but, by her own admission, was fired from the band in 1999 for "being a mean spirited drug addict who refused to get help".
Darcy was replaced on the 2000 ‘Machina’ tour by former Hole bassist Melissa Auf der Maur and has not spoken to the band’s frontman Billy Corgan since.
Last month, original guitarist and Smashing Pumpkins co-founder James Iha rejoined Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlain for two gigs in Los Angeles and Chicago and seeing that reunion has got her thinking it would be great to play with the group again after 16 years apart.
Darcy has revealed she has already been asked to rejoin the group on four separate occasions and is now seriously considering going back if she’s still wanted.
In an interview with the BlastEcho music website, Darcy – who lives on a non-working horse farm in Michigan – said: "Circumstances would have to be a certain way. It’s much too complicated."
Discussing how she has missed being part of the band – whose biggest hits include ‘Tonight, Tonight’, ‘1979’ and ‘Bullet with Butterfly Wings’ – she explained: "Over the course of 12 years jamming with people who just clicked, you could just do it forever and ever and ever. For me that doesn’t happen very often and I really miss that."
