Danny Miller has hit out at being snubbed for a British Soap Award.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actor – who portrays Aaron Sugden-Dingle on the ITV soap – missed out on a nod for the upcoming event, while his Dales co-stars Ryan Hawley (Robert Sugden) Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle), and Dominic Brunt (Paddy Kirk) all received nominations.
According to The Sun Online, he said in a now-deleted Instagram livestream: "I’ll tell you who I think is going to win … for the Best Actor category … Ryan or Jeff, either will work."
He then appeared to read out a fan comment, saying: "You should win a Soap Award."
Afterwards, Danny continued: "I know, I keep saying this to the Soap Awards every year, you’re so right. F**k the Soap Awards."
Danny last tasted success at the Soap Awards in 2016 when he triumphed in the Best Actor and Best Male Dramatic Performance categories.
As well as Jeff, Ryan and Dominic’s nods in the event’s longlist, a hat-trick of ‘Emmerdale’ actresses are also up for accolades.
Zoe Henry (Rhona Goskirk), Emma Atkins (Charity Dingle), and Lucy Pargeter (Chas Dingle) – who plays Danny’s on-screen mum – also received nominations.
‘Emmerdale’ is also up for the Best Soap award alongside ‘Coronation Street’, ‘Doctors’, ‘EastEnders’ and ‘Hollyoaks’.
However, the Yorkshire-set ITV soap was snubbed for a TV BAFTA nod last month.
The show missed out in the Soap & Continuing Drama category – just two months after scooping the Serial Drama prize at the National TV Awards.
Following the snub, James Hooton – who has played Sam Dingle in the ITV soap since 1995 – questioned why ‘Emmerdale’ wasn’t nominated.
In response to a tweet from BAFTA, which revealed ‘Casualty’, ‘Coronation Street’, ‘EastEnders’ and ‘Hollyoaks’ received nods in the Soap and Continuing Drama category, he wrote: "Where’s emmerdale? (sic)"
