Danny Miller has started a petition for recording lights to be introduced on iPhones after a "pervert" filmed him while he was having a shower in a gym changing room.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actor was left flabbergasted after a "little scrubber" shot video footage of him while he was washing himself down and getting changed, and admits if he ever did the same to a fan it would be a career-ending move.
The disgruntled star wrote on Twitter: "How would you go about petitioning for @Apple @AppleSupport to introduce a RED RECORDING LIGHT on the back of iPhones so that people in the public eye can tell when a little scrubber is trying to record them without their KNOWLEDGE or PERMISSION to do so?? Can anyone help??
"I’m happy to meet people. Just not when trying to get showered and dressed in a gym changing room and you’ve some pervert who’s too f**king thick to turn the auto flash light off.
"Happens all the time. Imagine me doing that to someone..
"Front. Page. News. Career done (sic)"
Apple then suggested the Dales star should mark his grievance in an online comment form on their website, and Danny called for others to do the same.
He tweeted: "Done. If anyone has two minutes can they do the same?
RED RECORDING LIGHTS on the back of Apple products, whilst recording. In order to allow all people, especially people in the public eye and media, that they are on record.
Please RT. Thanks in advance. (sic)"
‘Coronation Street’ stars Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs) and Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor) also admitted they had been subjected to similar situations.
Alan tweeted: "I am constantly amazed but the amount of "adults" who think it’s acceptable to take photos without even speaking to you …. and even worse when I’m with my daughter!! (sic)"
Kym wrote: "Someone took one of me while I was in a&e with Polly once!!! x (sic)"
Danny admitted he had also been targeted by a supporter while in hospital.
He wrote: "Had it literally a week ago in the hospital with my Dad whilst on record..
Him: "What you doing here??"
Me: "For a laugh"
Waiting for the video to appear with the tag.. ‘Too Big for his boots/doesn’t appreciate his fans’ etc (sic)"
