Danny Miller has reportedly signed a new contract with ‘Emmerdale’.
The 26-year-old actor – who is known for playing the loveable Aaron Dingle in the long-running soap – was reportedly toying with the idea of leaving the show following a highly successful year but it looks like bosses have managed to change his mind after they offered him a large sum of money to remain on screens for another year.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Danny is thrilled to be staying at ‘Emmerdale’ after an amazing year there with really tough storylines to play out.
"His family are completely over the moon as well.
"There had been rumblings from the ‘Emmerdale’ hierarchy that Danny may want to try pastures new – as he has left in the past and returned.
"So there were some serious talks between all parties and the word is that the offer of a hefty pay rise convinced him to stay – after all he does love the job there and it’s clear he is so well thought about in the industry and the viewing public with his amazing collection of awards."
Danny has certainly had some challenging storylines over the past year as his alter-ego came face-to-face with his abusive father, then learnt of his suicide in prison, and then faced jail himself where he self-harmed and turned to drugs.
However, it looks like Aaron may finally get his happy ever after he was reunited with his partner Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) – with the pair being nicknamed ‘Robron’.
The couple are set to tie the knot soon but Danny recently admitted he still hasn’t got used to the idea of wearing an engagement ring and can’t stop fiddling with it.
Asked if it feels "weird" to wear the ring, he said: "Yeah it does! As some of you might notice I can’t stop playing with it!"
