Danny Miller has adopted a puppy during lockdown.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actor – who is currently on a break from the ITV soap with filming suspended since March, due to the coronavirus pandemic – has introduced his social media followers to his cute pet cavapoo.
He wrote alongside a sweet snap of the pooch: "The newest member of The Miller Famalam, meet… GINI
"Can’t make empty promises, Gini but one thing I will promise is.. #youllneverwalkalone (sic)"
The 29-year-old actor – who plays Aaron Dingle in the ITV soap – recently shaved his head during lockdown to raise money for his charity Once Upon a Smile.
He unveiled his new look on Twitter and Instagram in a black and white video of himself accompanied by Sinead O’Connor’s ‘Nothing Compares to You’, which had a famous video of Sinead sporting cropped hair as she cried.
Danny mimicked the Irish singer by miming the lyrics and shedding a few tears before breaking into a chuckle.
He captioned the Instagram clip: "You want a job doing. Thanks to your generous donations for this… #allforcharity #lockdownchop (sic)"
Danny originally set a fundraising target of £500, but the non-profit organisation later confirmed he has raised double that amount and the donations are still coming in.
A post made on the official Once Upon a Smile Twitter account read: "An INCREDIBLE £1,000 has been raised for @DannyBMiller head shave. "This is going to allow us to continue to send ‘Essential Food Hampers’ to our families and because of your generosity we’ve already contacted many families for a delivery to them this week. THANK YOU. (sic)"
Once Upon a Smile was founded in 2011 by Danny and Daniel Jillings to provide emotional and practical support to bereaved families after it became apparent that there was a lack of support for families after the death of a loved one.
