Danny Dyer has given up alcohol.
The ‘EastEnders’ star – who is known for playing pub landlord Mick Carter in the long-running soap – was reportedly ordered to take a short break from the show last year in order to "sort his life out" when he and his wife Joanne Mas hit the rocks after he allegedly turned to the bottle, but their 21-year-old daughter Dani has admitted her parents are now "really strong" and her famous father has ditched the booze.
Dani said: "Mum and dad are good. They’re really strong. He doesn’t drink anymore."
It was also claimed that the couple – who got married in 2016 – were living apart following a series of blazing rows after the 40-year-old actor moved out of the family home in Essex and into a rented flat in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.
However, Dani is adamant that was never the case and her father moved closer to the soap set because he was working nights and the drive back to Essex was too long.
Speaking to the Mail Online, she said: "My dad kind of got a place nearer to work. He needed a place near EastEnders as he works late nights. But they are really strong – I mean they got married."
Dani is now keen to follow in her father’s footsteps by carving out a career on television and is set to take part in the new series of the reality show ‘Survival of the Fittest’.
She explained: "He’s given me a warning to behave. I was like, ‘I will!’ I am going to be as well behaved as I can. But he keeps saying to me to not be a melt around a boy."
And, although she’s hoping the stint on the show will lead to bigger and better opportunities, she’s already been told that she’ll never get a part on ‘EastEnders’.
She said: "I don’t know about ‘EastEnders’, they wouldn’t let me in it. They won’t let me and are like: ‘It ain’t going to happen.’ I think it’s because my dad is already on it so if I went on it there would be a massive outrage."
