Danielle Lloyd met her new fiancé at the gym when he came over to tell her she was doing her squats wrong.
The 32-year-old model got engaged to electrician Michael O’Neill when he popped the question with a diamond ring he designed himself at London hotel Claridge’s on Valentine’s Day (14.02.16) after just nine months of dating.
Danielle has now revealed their first ever meeting happened when the hunk decided to give the brunette beauty some tips on how to make the most of her exercise session.
During an appearance on ‘Loose Women’, she said: "We met at the gym when he came over to me and told me I needed to squat better. He’s got the banter as well. He’s such a lovely guy so I am really lucky."
In December 2014, Danielle split from her ex-husband soccer played Jamie O’Hara – with whom she has three sons Archie, five, Harry, four, and George, two – after discovering he had been cheating on her.
The former Miss Great Britain had a few casual dates when she was single again but none of the guys were interested in her boys, and when Michael came along and cared as much about her kids as he did her she knew she’d found the right guy.
She explained: "I dated a few people after my marriage but I felt some were only ever interested in me, not my kids. They didn’t want to know anything about them, but when I met Michael he wanted to do things with the kids. He was like, ‘What can we all do together? Shall we all go to the funfair?’ "
Danielle and Michael are yet to set a date for their wedding but as well as well as planning their nuptials they’ve also been thinking about having a baby – something her sons are in favour of, especially because they’ve bonded so well with their future stepdad.
She said: "I haven’t set a date for the wedding yet. He’s got no children but he really would love a little baby. When we got engaged, my boys were like, ‘Yes! We’re going to get a little sister now!’ We’re really looking forward to the wedding but we don’t know when it’s going to be, we’re just enjoying being with each other. We have loads of holidays planned for the summer with the boys. We’re just going to enjoy being all together."
