Daniel Ryan admits "something will have gone wrong" in his career if he goes to his grave having never appeared in ‘Coronation Street’.
The ‘Innocent’ actor has been a huge fan of the ITV soap ever since he was a kid, and he would love to appear on the cobbles one day, but is yet to have been approached about the possibility of spending some time in Weatherfield.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "It’s never come my way if I’m honest. None of the soaps have ever asked me.
"But if I was to go to my grave never having been in ‘Coronation Street’ then something will have gone wrong somewhere.
"As a child who wanted to be an actor that was probably the big goal."
Daniel would love to star in ‘Corrie’ as a serial killer in a similar mould to evil Pat Phelan, who was played by Connor McIntyre until the character eventually met his maker earlier this year.
He added: "They need to have a break before the next Phelan-type character. But if they want to give me a ring the next time they need someone to terrorise the Street I’d be happy with that."
Daniel is not the only star who has recently admitted he would love to cause chaos in Weatherfield.
Earlier this month, ‘Neighbours’ actor Ryan Moloney said he would be keen to follow in Phelan’s evil footsteps by being the next murderer on the cobbles.
He said: "I’d love to give a UK soap a crack.
"Maybe I could come into ‘Coronation Street’ or ‘EastEnders’ or something like that, in a Christmas special.
"I want to be the murderer – that’d be cool."
