Daniel Radcliffe starved himself for his role in ‘Jungle’.
The 27-year-old actor went on an extreme diet in order to slim down for the role, in which he plays an adventurer who has been lost in the jungle for several weeks, and admits was "hard physically".
He said: "It was hard physically because I wasn’t really eating. We were doing very long days and I was operating on not very much food."
‘Jungle’ is based on the memoir by Yossi Ghinsberg that documents a trip through the Amazon that went wrong, and Daniel has revealed that he had to begin dieting four weeks before the shoot in order to get his body to the right weight for the role.
Elsewhere in the interview, the ‘Harry Potter’ star revealed he wouldn’t be completely averse to taking up the magical role again but thinks it might be something that’s better left "untouched".
He told The Hollywood Reporter: "I’m never going to close the door; that would be a stupid thing to do. But I think I’ll be happy enough and secure enough to let someone else play it.
"At the moment it’s not even a concern because I’m too young to play the character, but even in 10 years’ time I would still feel strange about going back to it. There’s a part of me that’s like, some things are better left untouched. I don’t want to go back to anything like that and maybe sour what people have already loved."
