Dani Dyer slams ‘lazy’ social media firms

Dani Dyer has slammed "lazy" social media firms for failing to silence nasty trolls.

The 23-year-old reality star blasted Instagram bosses for a lack of security, and insisted they should ask users for their passport details when people create a new account.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, she said: "Social media companies need to do more but they are not doing anything. They can do something, but they are lazy. That’s the problem.

"On Instagram you shouldn’t be able to have loads of fake accounts – I can make 10 fake if I want to. I think you should have a passport or something to be verified. I don’t understand why you are allowed to fake an account and make someone feel rubbish about themselves."

It comes after fellow Islander Molly-Mae Hague was trolled for her weight over pictures of her in a bikini in Ibiza, and Dani has had enough of abusive comments becoming a "fashion".

She continued: "I don’t like it when people comment on other people’s weight. She looked amazing.

"I just don’t know why it’s allowed because people are like sheep. If it’s in fashion to call someone ugly, everyone does it. I do try to keep my mouth closed when it comes to trolling but I have to do my bit."

Pictures of Molly in a white bikini were revealed online last week, and some trolls described her as "lardy" and told her to "go to the gym".

Molly retweeted the comments along with the photographs, writing: "I would genuinely love to know who writes these comments? Like how can you actually write s*** like that and sleep at night? Beyond me. (sic)"
