Dani Dyer thinks her dad Danny is harming her love life.
The 24-year-old actress has admitted she hates when guys mention her dad, and she also suspects they’re often a bit intimated by Danny’s reputation.
The TV star – who is currently dating Sammy Kimmence – said: "Imagine you going on a date with a guy and they keep talking about your dad, you’d be like … what?
"I feel like they act like my dad … they don’t know my dad, my dad is so not the persona he’s portrayed as.
"So when they try to feel like they know him I’m like, ‘Hun, you don’t know him – let’s just go now. You know, we’ll split the bill.’"
Dani also confessed she was initially reluctant to tell her parents about her plans to star on ‘Love Island’ back in 2018.
She said: "It was really tough because my mum, I told first … you know, ‘Mum, I’ve been approached for ‘Love Island” and she was like, ‘Go for it, go for it’.
"My mum was so pushy, ‘Why don’t you just go on ‘Love Island’? You don’t really know what you’re doing’. Great faith in me, mum!
"But it was very like, you know, ‘Just go on it’, and I was like, ‘I don’t know how I’m going to tell my dad.’"
She admitted things became "very awkward" at home when she eventually discussed the idea with the ‘EastEnders’ actor.
Dani – who ultimately won the show alongside Jack Fincham – told Emma Gannon on the ‘Ctrl Alt Delete’ podcast: "He wasn’t thrilled about it.
"He didn’t really understand the concept of it and I was so glad when they won a BAFTA because I was like, ‘See dad, it really is a cool programme’.
"But my mum and dad didn’t really get along. They sort of didn’t tell me that. Cause obviously when I was in there, they were so worried."
