‘Dancing On Ice’ star Ryan Sidebottom has been ruled out of Sunday’s (27.01.19) show due to injury.
The former England cricketer has suffered a Grade I adductor strain, thereby ruling him out of performing this week and granting him a bye into the next round of the competition.
ITV said: "Ryan Sidebottom has been ruled out of performing in tomorrow night’s show (Sunday 27th January) on medical grounds as a result of a Grade I adductor strain.
"As a result he will receive a bye to next weekend’s show. Everyone at the show wishes him a speedy recovery."
Prior to his injury, Ryan admitted to relishing his ‘Dancing On Ice’ experience – even though it’s proven to be the "hardest thing" he’s ever done.
Ryan, 41 – who retired from cricket in 2017 – told Sporting Life: "Make no mistake, it’s definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done but it’s been so much fun and I’ve had such wonderful support from the public with many lovely messages on Twitter and Instagram.
"I called in at Costa this morning and two ladies stopped me to wish me well and say how much they enjoyed the routine on Sunday.
"It’s weird, you get known for playing cricket but now it seems like ‘Dancing On Ice’ is more important and it’s quite hard to get my head around. People have been so kind and supportive and it means a lot.
"Skating is really difficult but I’m really enjoying the ride and am just trying to give it my best."
