Channel 5 have confirmed the final three episodes of Dale Winton’s ‘Florida Fly Drive’ will still air later this summer – despite his tragic death earlier this week.
The ‘Supermarket Sweep’ host was found dead at his home on Wednesday (18.04.18) afternoon at the age of just 62 and, although police are still trying to establish how and why he died, the travelogue series will still go to air as planned.
A spokesperson for Channel 5 told the Radio Times: "In light of the sad news of Dale Winton’s death on Wednesday 18th April, Channel 5 have confirmed that the remainder of ‘Florida Fly Drive’ will be shown in early summer."
‘Florida Fly Drive’ first hit screens at the beginning of February but the third episode was postponed following the tragic Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, which killed 17 people and injured many more, in Florida on February 14, 2018.
At the time, Channel 5 said that episodes two, three and four would air in June.
‘Florida Fly Drive’ was Dale’s first television gig in four years after he took some time away from the spotlight due to health concerns and a battle with depression.
His agent Jan Kennedy announced his sad death last night, writing in a statement: "It is with great sadness that we can confirm the passing of Dale Winton who died at home earlier today. While we know many will share this terrible loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this time of grief."
Police are not treating his death as suspicious but have said it’s "unexplained" and they have ordered a post-mortem to determine exactly how and why he died.
