Daisy Ridley’s "head was so f***ed" after she starred in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.
The 25-year-old actress found herself catapulted into fame after she took on the role of Rey in 2015’s seventh instalment of the sci-fi franchise, and as she prepares for the release of next chapter ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ in December, the star has said she was a little overwhelmed by the spotlight at first.
She said: "My head was so f***ed after the first one came out. It was strange getting back into it, and it felt familiar and comforting. I suddenly felt really seen in a way [after the first ‘Star Wars’], which was so weird. Then, back at work, you’re just you and it’s not a big deal. You’re just at work: You’re doing your job and everyone else is doing their job. It’s just me being me."
And the brunette beauty admits she had "no sense" of the levels of fame she would encounter before she accepted the role.
Speaking to V Magazine – which hits shelves on November 9 – she added: "I had no sense of what I was getting into. No sense of what was really going to happen."
It isn’t the first time the ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ actress has spoken about her struggle with fame though, as she recently admitted she attended therapy to help her cope with the "crippling" effects of being noticed in public.
She said: "Everything was so confusing. People were recognising me – I still don’t know how to handle it.
"My skin got really bad because I was stressed. It was crippling. I just felt so seen and so self-conscious …
"I went and saw a lovely lady. I felt like I was sort of reducing myself because I was so worried that people would recognise me.
"[Then I thought] ‘You know what? I want to dance through life. I don’t want to scuttle.’"
