Daisy Ridley’s Murder on the Orient Express tears

Daisy Ridley cried when she started working on ‘Murder on the Orient Express’.
The 25-year-old actress was overcome with emotion at being part of an all-star ensemble cast including Johnny Depp, Dame Judi Dench, Penelope Cruz and Sir Derek Jacobi, on Sir Kenneth Branagh’s adaptation of Agatha Christie’s murder mystery and even questioned whether the director had been "made" to cast her.
She said: "I turned to Ken, wiped away a tear and said, ‘I can’t believe I’m here, thank you so much. Did someone make you cast me?’"
But the ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ star insists she’s never been starstruck by any of the big names she’s met during her career so far.
She said: "Absolutely not. I’ve ever idolised anyone really. I never had a crush thing."
Daisy got her big break playing Rey in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ and her first day of filming is something she’ll never forget because director J.J. Abrams branded her performance "wooden".
She recalled: "After the first take, he goes, ‘Just a bit … wooden’ and then we carried on.
"But JJ is the kind of person who before a scene says, ‘Don’t f**k it up.’ So he said, ‘Just a bit wooden’ and I was like, ‘Oh my God’. But it got better …
"It’s only because that word ‘wooden’ is so loaded. But it was just tense. And I thought, ‘OK, loosen that s**t right up and it’ll get better.’"
In order to put her at ease on the huge set, the director deliberately hired a hair and make-up team who had spent years working with Emma Watson, Danielle Radcliffe and Rupert Grint on the ‘Harry Potter’ film series.
She added to ELLE magazine: "Aside from the fact they’re amazing, he knew they had looked after Emma, Daniel and Rupert for however many years. I felt very well taken care of."
