Daisy Lowe reveals grandfather died on first day of Strictly rehearsals

Daisy Lowe is devastated after her beloved grandfather died on the first day of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ rehearsals.
Eddie Davis, 82, was thrilled his granddaughter was taking part in the BBC show and she has vowed to dance to some of his favourite songs to pay tribute to him, following his sudden death from a heart attack.
Daisy told the Sunday Mirror: "It was all quite sudden. I was talking to him the day before. He was so excited about me doing the show.
"I’m wearing his watch, his shirt and his necklace. I’m going to be dancing for him. I’d quite like to dance to some of his favourite songs, too.
"I’m just trying to be with my family whenever I have time off."
Daisy also praised her fellow ‘Strictly’ contestant Louis Redknapp for comforting her following Eddie’s sudden death.
She said: "It was pretty tough and thank God I had Lou. She made it all better."
Eddie and his wife Lee helped to raise Daisy and the 27-year-old model – who has been paired with professional dancer Aljaz Skorjanec on the show – says her grandmother will be cheering her on every week.
Daisy said: "She’ll be here every week, as long as I stay in. She said, ‘You’d best stay in to do that tango.’
"My grandma has never missed an episode. She’s obsessed. She told me, ‘You’ve got to do ‘Strictly’. You can’t not do it.’
"For my entire career I haven’t had to talk or really move. So it’ll be nice for people to get to know me."
