Curtis Pritchard was "fat-shamed" during his time on ‘Love Island’.
The 23-year-old dancer – who appeared on the ITV2 dating show this summer and previously admitted he put on around two stone during his time in the villa – has explained why he has decided to become an ambassador for weight loss programme Weight Watchers.
He told the MailOnline: "WW is something I’ve always wanted to do. I’ve always had my weight on show as a dancer and now coming into the villa, and being even more in the public eye, I got a bit of fat-shaming.
"We’re in 2019, that shouldn’t be happening these days. It upset me and played on my mind."
Curtis – who added his girlfriend Maura Higgins has been "super supportive" of his body image – explained throughout his career he’s "always fluctuated", and he’s decided to wanted to work on a more consistent health regime.
He added: "I’ve always fluctuated with my weight, and I want to create a healthy living lifestyle, something I can maintain.
"I’ve done crash diets all my life – in one month I could lose a stone and a half and put it all back on again."
Last month, the pro dancer admitted he piled on the pounds in the villa because he was "enjoying himself" and not exercising much.
He said: "I gained around two stone. I enjoyed myself in the villa and I didn’t exercise a lot.
"I liked to treat myself every now and again with food. I’m hoping to start training again soon. I find it good, physically and mentally. I need to sort my diet out, that’s the main thing."
And he is hoping his ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ pro dancer brother AJ Pritchard can give him some advice about getting a six-pack back.
He added: "You can work out but if you don’t have a meal plan with a decent diet you’ve got no chance. Hopefully AJ will give me some tips on getting a six-pack back."
