Curtis Pritchard believes Maura Higgins should have stayed on Dancing on Ice

Curtis Pritchard believes that girlfriend Maura Higgins was unfairly eliminated from ‘Dancing on Ice’.
Maura and partner Alexander Demetriou were eliminated from the competition on Sunday’s (16.02.20) show after a skate-off against Libby Clegg and Mark Hanretty, but her boyfriend claimed that she was "the better skater" in the showdown.
Curtis appeared on today’s (18.02.20) episode of ‘Lorraine’ when presenter Christine Lampard mentioned how Maura’s performance on the show had been her best of the whole series.
He replied: "Do you know what, it was, it truly was. And I believe on that skate-off she was the better skater. I believe that, and she did incredible. She was relaxed, comfortable, she was going around the ice better than she’s ever done."
However, the 24-year-old hunk admitted Maura’s exit has had some benefits as the couple have been able to spend more time together.
Curtis said: "I was with her last night, obviously she’s upset. You know, she wanted to be in the final, she wanted to win, but you know… now we’ve got a bit more time together, so it’s nice actually."
Maura, 29, was emotional after her exit from the ITV competition as she was interviewed by hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby after the result, but told them: "I really did want to stay."
She also posted on Instagram after her elimination paying tribute to Alexander and the whole ‘Dancing on Ice’ team.
She wrote: "Loved every single second skating with you @alixdemi thank you to everyone who has supported our journey & also a massive thank you to everyone @dancingonice for being so incredible to work with. I love you all."
