Craig Revel Horwood prefers appearing on the Australian version of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ because he’s allowed to swear.
The 55-year-old choreographer has recently been working on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ in his native Australia, where he’s given the freedom to really let rip with his opinions.
Craig shared: "You can actually say what you like. You are actually allowed to swear. It was brilliant.
"We are so restricted on the BBC One show as it’s a real family audience – so is the Australian one, but they have a different sense of humour.
"They can say ‘bloody’ and normally the things that are in our vocabulary over here. So that was sort of freeing in a way. I loved it."
Craig filmed the final few episodes of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ amid the coronavirus pandemic.
And he admitted the health crisis posed a real challenge for the show’s bosses.
Speaking about the experience of making the programme without a live studio audience, he told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It was very strange as they had never done that before. I had to boo myself.
"It was hilarious. We had about 10 crew sitting in clapping."
Earlier this week, meanwhile, Craig said he’s confident there’s "a way around" social distancing measures to ensure ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ goes ahead as planned.
The outspoken star revealed: "I’ve spoken to the producers and they’re working through absolutely everything to make it happen. I know, fingers crossed, it will.
"There is some way around it, there has to be. People love the show, it’s great entertainment … We really want it back and I know BBC One are working extremely hard to make that happen for the audience."
