Craig David would consider a judging role on ‘The X Factor’.
The ITV talent show is looking for a replacement after Nick Grimshaw announced he would be stepping down after a year on the panel and the ‘When The Bassline Drops’ hitmaker believes being a music artist himself would make him more "honest" with the hopefuls.
He told Digital Spy: "If Simon [Cowell] came to me with that position, I would definitely think about it."
Meanwhile, producers are also on the hunt for presenters after Caroline Flack and Olly Murs both confirmed their exit from the show.
It is thought Dermot O’Leary may return to hosting duties despite leaving the series before last after nearly a decade fronting the show.
A source said: "Dermot will come back to ‘The X Factor’. Talks are under way on his deal but everything is positive. Everyone, including Dermot and Simon [Cowell], has the will to make it work.
"Producers have realised you can’t take any risks with the presenter of the show. You need someone really good who can cope with live TV. It is a massive skill and there are not many people who have it.
"There is even talk Dermot could be offered the presenting job for the rest of the show’s life when a new deal is signed with ITV. Bosses are looking at a two or three-year contract for him."
