Courtney Act wants to be the first drag queen on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 36-year-old TV personality – who rose to fame after reaching the final stage of the popular US show, ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ – would love to appear on the hit dancing competition and dance with a male partner.
She said: "I hope the BBC would be open to it. They love a stunt casting. Surely it’s time for the BBC to do it?
"I would want to be Courtney and dance with a male partner."
Courtney – whose real name is Shane Jenek – is also keen to bring same-sex ballroom dancing to the forefront of the show.
The Australian native is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "And then half way through the series I’d come out as Shane and there would finally be same-sex dancing on the show. I’ve seen same-sex ballroom dancing and it’s just as fabulous."
The ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ winner is also in talks to host her own TV series called ‘Up Late and Courtney Act’ on Channel 4 after impressing bosses with her big personality on the reality show in January.
A source recently said: "Channel 4 spotted Courtney’s talent while she was on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ and they love her personality."
The show is said to be a "mixture of cabaret, comedy and guest stars", but is currently still in the planning stages.
The insider added: "The chat show will be a late night variety programme with a mixture of cabaret, comedy and guest stars. At the moment it’s in development but Courtney’s quietly hopeful it will see the light of day."
