Courtney Act is returning to ‘Neighbours’.
The drag queen – whose real name is Shane Jenek – will be back on the Australian soap following a cameo appearance last month and hinted at a more substantial role in Erinsborough.
Speaking to TV Tonight, Courtney said: "I’m filming a multi-episodic arc. Courtney Act is coming to Lassiter’s Pride, which is very exciting. But while I’m in town, I’ll be tending to some other business. I’m in as Shane and Courtney."
Courtney has joked that she could be the love child of iconic characters Scott Robinson and Charlene Mitchell, who were played by Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue during the 1980s.
The ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ winner said: "There’s still a storyline open for me to be Scott and Charlene’s love child, but nobody has said yes to that!"
Courtney made a cameo appearance on the Channel 5 soap last month when gay couple David Tanaka and Aaron Brennan visited Sydney for the Mardi Gras parade.
The 38-year-old singer previously thanked stars Takaya Honda and Matt Wilson – who play the pair – for being a great support on set.
Courtney posted on social media: "I’M GONNA BE ON NEIGHBOURS!!! Right, that’s it, I’m done, I’m hanging up my wig. I’ve reached Peak ‘Straya. The mythical Fair Go. Advance Australia Fairy!
"Thank you to the two lovely gays of Ramsey St, @takayah & @mattywilson who so delicately held my hand through my first acting gig since high school!"
