Julia Goulding has admitted Shona Ramsey and David Platt could "fall back in love" all over again.
The ‘Coronation Street’ star’s character is set to make a devastating return to the cobbles as she is suffering from memory loss after being shot on Christmas Day (25.12.19), and despite not being able to remember her on-screen husband – played by Jack P. Shepherd – the actress thinks there is still hope.
She said: "It will be interesting. They’re starting from scratch and he has an uphill struggle as she is really stepping back from him.
"I think it will require a lot of teamwork from them. I think it would be lovely to see them fall back in love starting from a very plain ground.
"I’m looking forward to it, it’s quite nice."
The 35-year-old actress also weighed in the possibility of another wedding for the ‘Corrie’ couple, and while she’s open to the idea she’s also glad the two characters "have something to overcome".
She added: "That would be great – the last wedding was interesting to say the least. Seeing David in a suit and tie and not at the bistro, who knows.
"It’s nice to know there will be challenging times for them – they work best together when they have something to overcome. But to have a warm fuzzy feeling of a happy ending is nice."
However, there is still a chance that things won’t end well for the pair – which Julia admitted would be an "interesting" direction to explore.
She said: "That would be interesting. There’s a chance she might not fall back with him or he might not fall in love with the new Shona.
"It would be sad to see them parted."
